1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Bookybara. By using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
You must be an adult to create an account. The app is designed for a parent or guardian to set up and supervise, and for a child to read.
2. Your account
Your account is tied to your device. Anyone with access to your unlocked device has access to your account, so treat the device accordingly.
If you link an email address, keep access to it — it is how you would recover your library after losing the device.
3. Supervision is yours
Stories are produced by an AI model and are not reviewed by a person before you see them. We run automated safety checks, but no automated check is perfect.
You are responsible for deciding what your child reads. Read a story before giving it to a young child, and use the report option if something is wrong so we can improve the checks.
4. Subscriptions
Reading is free. Creating and revising stories requires an active subscription, purchased through the App Store or Google Play and managed there. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancel from your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling in our app is not possible because we do not process the payment. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Subscriptions include a monthly allowance of story generation. We may pause generation for the rest of the month once that allowance is used up. Reading your existing library is never affected.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to request content that is sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise harmful to a child. Do not attempt to bypass the safety checks. Do not attempt to break into, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these things.
6. Stories and ownership
The stories generated for your children are yours to read, print, and share with family and friends. You may not sell them or publish them commercially.
The app itself — its name, design, artwork, illustrations, and software — belongs to us. Nothing in these terms transfers it to you.
Because stories are machine-generated, we cannot promise any story is original, and identical or similar stories may be generated for other users.
7. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion erases your data as described in the privacy policy, and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering the service we will give reasonable notice so you can export your stories.
8. Disclaimers
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, that generation will always succeed, or that a story will be suitable for a particular child.
Bookybara is entertainment. It is not an educational assessment, a reading diagnosis, or a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
